Police Search for Human Remains After Missing Teens’ Vehicle Found in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Authorities are now searching for human remains after a white 2020 Acura ILX linked to two missing teenagers was discovered Friday night at a Lexington business.
Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn confirmed that police activity at the scene involves a search for human remains, though no further details have been released.
The vehicle, which had been the focus of an urgent search, is believed to be connected to the disappearance of Aoun Ismail Basboos, 15, and Ali Haider Naqvi, 16, who have been missing since Saturday, May 11. Lexington Police say the teens were last seen around 5:50 p.m. getting into the back seat of the white Acura on the 3300 block of Spangler Drive.
The car, bearing Kentucky license plate N9D006, was also identified as a vehicle of interest in a shots-fired investigation that occurred in the same area and timeframe. Later that evening, it was reportedly spotted traveling along Hume Bedford Road in Bourbon County around 6:30 p.m.
Authorities have described both boys and are urging the public to remain alert.

Aoun Ismail Basboos is described as 5'7", 130 pounds, with a scar on his right arm. He was last seen wearing a red jacket.

Ali Haider Naqvi is described as 6'2", 210 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black jacket.
Police continue to search for both teens, who are considered to be in imminent danger.
